YT Pricing
How Yield Token fair value is calculated and what it means for trading.
YT represents future yield, so its value depends on two things: how much yield is expected, and how much time is left to earn it.
Fair Price Formula
The protocol calculates this automatically using the pool's 7-day historical APY — the annualized fee yield of the underlying pool measured over the last 7 days.
Why 7 Days?
A longer lookback window produces a more stable and realistic estimate than a 24-hour snapshot. Daily APY can swing wildly with trading volume — a single active day can inflate numbers far above the sustainable rate. The 7-day average smooths out this noise, giving a fairer baseline for YT pricing.
!NOTE The Uniswap interface shows a 24h APR which can differ significantly from the 7-day figure. This is expected — our 7d APY reflects average performance, not a single day's activity.
Example
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| 7d Historical APY | 10% (1000 bps) |
| Days to maturity | 60 |
| Time fraction | 60 / 365 = 0.164 |
| YT Fair Price | 1.64% of underlying value |
For a position worth 1 USDT per YT, the fair price would be 0.0164 USDT.
What the Price Tells You
- YT Price = the market's expectation of remaining yield per unit of underlying
- If you buy YT at the fair price and the pool performs as expected, you break even
- If actual yield exceeds expectations, you profit
- If yields drop, you lose
Spotting Opportunities
Compare the orderbook price with the fair price shown in the UI:
| Orderbook vs Fair Price | What It Means | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Market price < Fair price | YT is undervalued | Consider buying |
| Market price > Fair price | YT is overvalued | Consider selling |
!TIP The fair price is an estimate based on past performance. If you think future yields will differ from recent history, the fair price may not reflect true value.
What Affects YT Value
- Pool APY — higher fees = more valuable YT
- Time remaining — more time = more yield left to capture
- APY volatility — unpredictable yields make YT riskier to price
- Market sentiment — supply and demand on the orderbook
